Dreaming of Kṣitigarbha indicates that you have a connection with the Buddha and Bodhisattvas. This dream suggests that everything will go smoothly. Any good deeds or meaningful activities for the community should be pursued without hesitation, as they will be beneficial.

Ji Shichen, a lay practitioner in charge of the Kṣitigarbha Dharma Assembly in Nandang Town, Yueqing, has always been charitable. Previously, while reciting the Kṣitigarbha Sutra, he became deeply frightened by the descriptions of hell. The sutra mentions that if one wishes to know the whereabouts of their deceased parents, they should recite the Original Vows of the Bodhisattva, and the Bodhisattva will provide guidance. Therefore, he vowed to keep a vegetarian diet and recite the sutra. After more than thirty days, he dreamed of Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva sitting on a lotus seat, emitting radiant light that illuminated the earth. The Bodhisattva, with a dignified appearance, told Ji Shichen, 'Your parents are still in the underworld.' He then led Ji to a place where he saw his parents sitting in the courtyard of a grand hall, holding prayer beads and chanting Buddha's name, but they did not speak. At that moment, a rooster crowed, and Ji woke up. He immediately burned incense and knelt before the Bodhisattva, renewing his vow to pray for his parents to be reborn in the Western Pure Land and to abstain from killing for life. From then on, no matter how busy he was, he recited the Kṣitigarbha Sutra once daily to promote Buddhism and relieve suffering. Over the years, he has never slacked. Ji has contributed significantly to the establishment of the Kṣitigarbha Dharma Assembly.
